The Killer Flamingos

The Killer Flamingos are the North Shore’s dynamic Modern Jazz collective, based in Ipswich. Featuring the acclaimed guitarist Harry Wagg, the band keeps things fresh and crowd-friendly, traversing all styles of modern jazz with music from masters like John Scofield and Pat Metheny, reworking soul and funk classics, and even firing up original material. The Killer Flamingos are seasoned pros who bring the highest level musicianship with great energy and vibe.

 
 

Guitarist Harry Wagg studied guitar performance and music education at Berklee College of Music and Boston University, and has performed professionally throughout the New England area for over two decades. He Currently lives in Ipswich with his wife and two children, and is the Instrumental Director at Lynnfield High School.

Bassist Brian Hone was raised near New York City. At a young age he was introduced to jazz bass and spent the rest of his youth sneaking into clubs. He studied bass with Steve Laspina and attended the NYU school of jazz performance, where he studied with Mike Richmond. He has performed with the Sun Ra Arkestra and G Love. Brian lives in Ipswich with his wife, two daughters, and 47 animals. 

Drummer James Hull grew up in Sydney, Australia, where he earned his degree in music performance. He spent the following years as a freelance performer and educator in Australia and across the world, notably serving as musical director for a luxury cruise line for 3 years. After living in the Boston area, he and his wife moved to Ipswich in 2017, where he has pursued his other passion in importing Italian natural wine.
